Erika Stark

Director of Content

Erika is a storyteller and digital content creator with a decade's worth of writing experience across multiple platforms.

Erika began her career as a journalist, and was writing for the Calgary Herald before she'd even graduated high school. Summer internships at the newspaper while she earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University eventually led to full-time work at the Herald where Erika was part of the National Newspaper Award-winning team that covered the 2013 Southern Alberta floods. Erika also worked for CBC Calgary in their radio, TV and web news departments before making the leap to digital communications.

A combination of in-house, freelance and agency work in communications and marketing over the following five years helped Erika develop and hone her skills as a digital strategist, copywriter and social media specialist. Prior to joining Adverb, Erika worked with Adam and Tyler on the social media team at ATB. Erika wrote anything and everything from tweets to longform articles, spearheaded large-scale digital activations that brought the brand closer to its communities and customers, and led the charge on tackling important social issues on behalf of the brand, including Pride and Black Lives Matter.

Erika is passionate about using social media for good, and believes that when it comes to connecting people, there's nothing quite like a good story.
